UPCOMING EVENT:
TAMBU FEST

Tambu Fest will feature a “sneak peek” screening of the documentary FOUR DAYS IN MAY, by the directors of BAD FRIDAY.  FOUR DAYS IN MAY focuses on the 2010 State of Emergency in West Kingston.  It features narratives from the community members who experienced the Tivoli Incursion in order to bring an awareness to the ways people have dealt with the contemporary legacies of imperialism, slavery, and nationalism. The documentary will be followed by a kumina, featuring St. Thomas’s leading experts.  Come and enjoy the unifying and sustaining force of our powerful Jamaican drum and dance traditions.
The evening will also feature drumming by Kingston Drummers. Everything will take place Friday, July 20th at Lynval’s Lawn, Port Morant, St. Thomas, starting at 6 pm.  Admission is free.

There will be a live radio stream for Tambufest!
